Policies and Procedures
This information sheet outlines the policies and procedures of the clinic as of June 20, 2024.
The appointments for services are scheduled at either #207 – 15230 56th Ave., Surrey, B.C. or #400-601 West Broadway, Vancouver, B.C. unless otherwise indicated.
Location
Semiahmoo Speech Services has three locations at:
#207-15230 56th Ave., Surrey, B.C. We are conveniently located on the S.E. corner of Hwy 10 and 152nd Street, in the Canadian Western Bank Building next to the CHEVRON gas station. It is a 3-story glass building with some bright orange and blue coloring on the windows.

Therapy Hours
Monday – Saturday: (8:30am-7pm)
Parking/Elevator
#207-15230 56th Ave., Surrey, B.C. : There is ample parking right outside the building in the parking lot. You have FREE parking for 3 hours. If needed, there is a handicap parking stall directly in front of the building. An elevator or stairway can take you to the second floor.
#400-601 West Broadway, Vancouver, B.C. : Pay parking is available underground.
Richmond, BC- Continental Plaza: Pay parking is available in the underground parking lot.
Cancellation Policy
Appointment times are reserved just for you. Our waitlist can be long, and a late cancellation or missed appointment leaves a gap in your therapist’s day that could have been filled by another client.
As such, we require 48 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than 48 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged the full session fee.
Repeated cancellations may result in withdrawal of service and a return to the waitlist until attending regular therapy is possible.
Illness Policy
For the health and safety of staff and clients, we ask that you cancel your session if your child is ill.
This includes any condition that may be infectious and/or ordinarily exempt your child from a ending school or daycare. Clients must not come to their session if they have experienced any of the following symptoms in the last 24 hours:
- Fever
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
If your child is sick, you are required to cancel your session. If less than 48 hours notice is given you will be responsible for the full cost of the session.
Remember: You can always switch your appointment to a virtual online session in order to reduce the risk of infection.
Extended Health Benefits
It is a good idea to contact your Extended Health Provider to ask what rebate /coverage you are entitled to for both assessment as well as treatment sessions for speech-language therapy. Also, remember to ask how much money you can claim for your child or yourself over the course of one year, as this varies with different insurance providers.
Confidentiality
All client related details remain strictly confidential. If another professional requests a copy of the assessment results, client/parental permission will be obtained prior to the release of any information.
Other Information
You may be asked to locate other relevant information including school reports, work samples, reports from other professionals and language/video samples. Please bring these documents with you to the initial appointment.
