This was an extremely exciting month for Semiahmoo Speech Services as we got our first TV feature on Global News! We are so thrilled to be able to show a snippet of the work we do with children. Our friend Patrick, who is also featured in the video, is an absolute superstar!
Variety Week 2018: Young boy with Speech Apraxia finds his voice thanks to Variety!
Patrick was born with Goldenhar Syndrome, a rare disorder that typically involves the incomplete development of the ear, nose and jaw. In addition to his challenges with Goldenhar Syndrome, Patrick also struggles with speech apraxia. Variety has provided Patrick with weekly speech and language sessions and it’s helping Patrick discover his voice.
